Product Description
Wander across two off-the-beaten-path countries in West Africa on this incredible small group tour through Benin and Togo…with an option to add on Ghana too!
If you’re interested in experiencing vibrant culture, ever-changing landscapes, and unique villages that are located in caves, built on top of lakes, or constructed completely out of mud, this tour might be for you. If you want to learn first-hand about ancient tribal traditions, the intriguing religion of voodoo, and the dark, yet sobering history of the West African slave trade, then this trip is definitely up your alley.
We’ll explore the brilliant and exhilarating western coast of Africa by winding through national parks, cruising along the coast, exploring UNESCO World Heritage sites, and boating through a stilted village dubbed the “Venice of Africa.” We’ll learn first hand about the practice of voodoo by exploring local fetish markets, observing traditional ceremonies, and engaging in dialogue with village locals. At every turn we’ll experience the vibrant culture of both bustling cities and small tribal villages while receiving the warm West African hospitality at every turn.
Join us for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to immerse yourself in the dynamic and lively West African culture through daily interactions with locals and authentic, off-the-beaten-path experiences. We can’t wait for you to join us!

?️ Seasonal Notes: This trip takes place in the high season for Benin and low season for Togo (expect warm temperatures and the possibility of rain). If you do the optional Ghana extension, it will also be low season with warm temperatures and relatively dry. Traveling during the low season means there will be less tourists and promote tourism dispersal – spreading out tourist arrivals so destinations do not get overwhelmed and resource-constrained.
