We’re a small team passionate about travel and sustainability. As COVID has normalized remote-working, we’ve found incredible talent all over the world to help bring Yūgen Earthside to life. Separated by distance, our complementary skillsets unite us in our desire to positively impact the tourism industry.

Hilary Matson
Founder
An American in Paris, Yūgen Earthside combines Hilary’s passion for sustainability with her ever-present travel bug. After 9 years at Amazon in roles ranging from operational efficiency to product management, she looks forward to raising the bar in the tourism industry.
She holds an MBA degree from HEC-Paris.
ERIKA RODRIGUEZ
MARKETING StRATEGY
Erika is our eco-conscious marketing guru. She’s worked on strategic marketing projects for more than seven years and has experience with social impact.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business & Marketing from the University of San Diego.
VILLE HEIMGARTNER
SUSTAINABILITY
Ville hails from Switzerland. He did his thesis on carbon reduction and has been a sustainability consultant for 5+ years. Having created his own sustainable startup in the past, he also brings entrepreneurial and fundraising experience.
He holds a Corporate Environmental Management degree from the University of Jyväskylä.
LELEti PHILLIPS
DIGITAL MARKETING
Leleti brings expertise in communications and writing to create interactive and engaging content for our community.
She holds a Master’s degree in International Tourism Management from the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
Sally Ghaly
Content Contributor
Sally is an Egyptian American who leverages her know-how of content strategy to develop blog posts and other visual business tools for Yūgen Earthside.
She graduates with an MBA degree from HEC Paris in June 2021.
Levi Gable
Web Dev
Levi is a web developer with over six years of experience. He specializes in WordPress, React, and Next.js; and loves testing Kickstarter projects for new sustainable travel accessories.
He holds a BS degree in Engineering from the University of Washington.
